I might go with something that keeps its value better, perhaps something fun like find familiar? A bat would give you access to blindsight, or an owl can do flyby Help actions to get you Advantage. Usually a crossbow bolt + Sneak Attack will be a better bet, though there are wraiths and things that will prove tricky. From what I've seen there aren't actually many damage vulnerabilities, but I've only played at low levels. I'd probably skip blade ward, if you want to spend your action defensively, just Dodge.Ĭhromatic orb is reasonable, if a bit unsubtle. Minor illusion, friends, message, light are my favorites, in that order. You can't Sneak Attack with a cantrip, so you'll want utility spells primarily. ![]()
